A Digital Gift Card Bonus Scheme is available to our clients. The aim of this scheme is to assist our clients to encourage positive cash flow while guaranteeing future revenue.
Rather than discounting gift cards, the idea is that customer will receive a bonus amount when they purchase a digital gift card.
How does it work?
When a customer purchases a Digital Gift Card, a bonus amount will automatically be added to the card.
For example, a client online portal could be set so that gift cards purchased receive the following bonus amounts:
- $25.00 gift card has $5.00 bonus added
- Cards between $25.01 - $50.00 have $10.00 bonus added
- Cards between $50.01 - $100.00 have $20.00 bonus added
- Cards < $100.01 have $30.00 bonus added
Please note, the campaign programmed triggers on the initial purchase of a Digital Gift Card and therefore this campaign will not apply to gift cards purchased at POS, gift cards created by an Admin User in Polygon Central, or gift cards topped up online using the membership portal.
Transactions against the gift card will show the original purchase price as one line item, and the bonus amount as a second line item.
How does it get setup?
If a client wants to offer Gift Card Bonus Scheme to their customers, setup will need to be undertaken by the DEV team, and therefore a request for provisioning will need to be lodged with the DSO.
Discussion as to the bonus amounts to be applied across card value ranges will need to occur on a case by case basis.
Customer purchase notification
Digital gift cards purchased will still trigger the usual email to the purchaser, and the amount listed on the email will be the original purchase price. It is recommended that clients report on gift cards purchased and send supplementary emails detailing the bonus scheme and advising of the bonus amount.
If the client would like to provide changes to the wording on the HTML template that is issued for the purchase of digital gift cards (although the original purchase price will still be the amount displayed) this can be accommodated, but the changes will not take effect until the next scheduled deployment (generally Wednesday each week).
