Summary
Configuration enhancements have been made for Adyen eftpos integrations so that a payment request can be issued to the eftpos pinpad(s) located at the drive-through lanes from any POS terminal in the network.
This allows staff to take and process orders for cars in the drive-through lanes regardless of their physical location in the restaurant, aiding in labour allocation and speeding the order process.
Prerequisites
This functionalality is available to clients with Polygon POS installations and Adyen eftpos integration. The software versions required are:
Polygon POS Management: 24??.??.? or later (to be advised post merge)
Polygon POS Terminal: 24??.??.? or later (to be advised post merge)
Configuration
To be able to issue a payment request to any Adyen eftpos pinpad from any POS terminal configuration will need to be added for:
- Adyen Payments Interface
- Peripheral Roles
- POS Terminal keypad button
Adyen Payments Interface Configuration
Configuration is required at both the POS location level and for the specific pinpad at the peripheral level.
Details are entered in the POS Location Settings for elements applied globally to all Adyen pinpads in the network.
To do this:
- Access Polygon POS Management | POS Location Settings | Polygon Add-On Modules
- Navigate to Payments Interface | Eftpos Configuration
- Ensure that the setting Enable Cloud EFT Config is on
- Open the Adyen Global Config option and enter the relevant configuration detail.
Those settings applicable to the specific pinpad will be entered on the peripheral.
To do this:
- Access the POS Network
- Navigate to the relevant POS Location and select the Eftpos peripheral
- Complete the configuration detail.
- Please ensure the Device Name entered is unique to the pinpads for this location.
This article will give more information on configuring an Adyen terminal and details on obtaining the relevant field values:
Peripheral Role
A peripheral role must be created. This will be assigned to each eftpos pinpad peripheral that will be available to select for payment.
To do this:
- Access Products | Peripheral Roles from the main menu.
- Create the peripheral roles as required.
It is recommended that the roles be given contextual and meaningful names so that staff in the store can easily choose the correct pinpad.

Assign Adyen Eftpos Peripherals as Network Devices
The POS Terminal can issue a payment request to any Adyen eftpos pinpad assigned in that terminal's hardware tree.
Care should be taken to ensure that each Adyen pinpad is programmed as a local or network device for all POS terminals.
For example:
If you have eftpos pinpads connected to the master, slave and drive-through terminals, the hardware tree would look like this:
Master
EFT Pinpad
\\Slave\EFT Pinpad
\\DT\EFT Pinapd
Slave
EFT Pinpad
\\Master\EFT Pinpad
\\DT\EFT Pinpad
DT
EFT Pinpad
\\Master\EFT Pinpad
\\Slave\EFT Pinpad

POS Terminal Keypad Button
There are two (2) new modes for the fast finaliser button to facilitate sending payments from the POS terminal to a chosen eftpos pinpad.
-
Eftpos Target Role (will pass the payment to the pinpad role included in the programming of the button).
-
Eftpos Lookup Role (will display a list of all pinpad roles available to the terminal for the user to choose).
