Loyalty Offline Mode

If the POS is unable to communicate with the Loyalty server when you:

  • swipe or scan a member card,
  • use the member lookup function, or
  • apply a member coupon to a sale);

the POS can be placed into Loyalty Offline Mode.

Set to Offline Mode

If you choose the Set to offline mode button all loyalty point accrual transactions will be stored locally and uploaded when communication with the loyalty server is restored.

You will not be able to process gift card transactions (sale or redemption), sales finalised with member cash, or sales where members wish to redeem items with loyalty points - as these transactions require validation of card and member balances - until communication with the server is restored.

The Loyalty Offline button will be included on the Loyalty toolbar.

The POS Health Dashboard will register that Loyalty is offline and display an Amber light.  To learn more about the POS Health Dashboard click here.

 

Stay Online for Future Requests

If you choose the Stay online for future requests button, the system will remain in Loyalty online mode.  If however, communication with the loyalty server continues to fail the offline message will be displayed each time communication is attempted.
