Summary

This functionality allows businesses to show a personalised pop-up message on the Redcat Online Ordering platform for customers who are using Web Ordering, or the Android and iOS apps to place their orders. These messages can be customised according to the sale type, ensuring that relevant and specific messages are displayed to customers depending on their purchase.

What is Online Ordering Sale Type Pop Up Message? 

The feature allows businesses to enhance their communication with customers through the use of pop-up notifications.  Utilising this tool, businesses can display important messages to customers after they have selected their preferred sale type. These messages are customisable and can be tailored to the sale type, ensuring that customers receive relevant and specific information about their purchase. 

For example, the notification could be used to inform customers about menu changes, such as updated items or prices.  Alternatively, it could be used to provide customers with details about the delivery process, such as the name of the delivery service being used.

Restaurants can benefit from the use of the pop-up notification functionality by providing customers with timely and relevant information about menu changes, delivery processes or anything else the business sees as important for customers to be aware of while placing orders. Use cases that this functionality covers

This allows for a pop-up message to be configured for any of the sale types listed below.  When this sale type is selected in online ordering (web or app), the message for that sale type is displayed. 

  • 100 - Dine In
  • 101 - Takeaway
  • 102 - Pickup
  • 103 - Delivery
  • 104 - Drive Through
  • 105 - Table Service
  • 106 - Web Ordering
  • 107 - Catering

Example use cases are:

  • When Delivery is selected, a message is shown alerting customers that delivery is facilitated by a 3rd party.

  • When Pickup is selected, a message is shown alerting customers their name will be called out from the counter when it's ready.

  • When Catering is selected, a message is shown alerting customers that the order is for pickup from the store, if they want delivery, they are to call the store after they have placed their order.


 

Prerequisites

Specific deployments will be required to utilise Online Ordering Sale Type Pop Up Messages.

  • all relevant code has been deployed to Polygon Central.

  • your app is the build required to support Online Ordering Sale Type Pop Up Messages.
