Summary
Position Ordering allows the allocation of dishes to the customer’s position around the table, and shared plates can be assigned to the table as a whole. The allocation of the seats can be easily entered and modified at the POS, with the information accessible in the production dockets and customers’ receipts.
At the end of the meal, customers can split the bill and pay for their allocated plates or the entire table. The share plates can be divided evenly across all seats or split across specific seats.
Key Features
The Position Ordering feature was designed for restaurants offering table service. In that situation you can:
- enter items against a seat position at the table
- allocate items as 'shared'
- see the seat position for each item
- at POS
- on KMS
- on printed production dockets
- on customer receipts - allow diners to
- pay for items linked to their seat(s) including an appropriate portion of shared dishes
- split the bill across all seats, including shared dishes
- finalise the entire sale
This process allows venues to provide a more personal experience for the diners by reducing the mix and friction that can occur when the food arrives at the table and the end of the meal when payment is made.
Use Cases
This functionality is designed to meet the following use cases:
