      Tyro: Alipay - Processing and Refunding Transactions at POS

      Tyro pinpad models

      You will need to have one of these Tyro pinpad models to accept Alipay as they provide an Alipay soft key on the display:

      • Yoximo (Eftpos OnTheGo or Eftpos mobile); or
      • Yomani XR (Eftpos OnTheTop).

      If you currently have a different Tyro pinpad model, please contact Tyro Customer Support Team on 1300 966 639.

       

      Processing an Alipay transaction at the POS

      To finalise a sale using Alipay at the POS Terminal:

      • Enter the menu items as normal, then proceed to the Pay
      • Choose EFT (integrated eftpos) as the media type, then F to pay in full.
      • POS will send the transaction to the Tyro eftpos pinpad. 

      • Use the Alipay soft key on the Tyro eftpos pinpad.
      • Pinpad will generate a QR code specifically for this Alipay transaction and display it.
      • The customer uses the Alipay app on their mobile device to scan the QR code on the Tyro eftpos pinpad and completes the transaction in the app.

      Note: the QR code will remain on the Tyro eftpos pinpad for one (1) minute and then expire. Should this occur the process must be started again. 

      The Tyro eftpos pinpad then receives a transaction status from Alipay and displays that status on the eftpos pinpad screen and returns the status to the POS.

       

      To Refund an Alipay transaction at the POS

      To refund a sale finalised with Alipay at the POS Terminal:

      • Enter the Sales History and choose the transaction to be refunded.

      Use the Edit button to recall the sale. 

      • On the Pay Screen, highlight the Alipay media payment
      • Choose the C (Clear) button.
      • The system will advise that an EFT reversal must be issued. Choose Yes to process the reversal. 
      • The Tyro pinpad may prompt for the entry of the supervisor or refund password.
      • Use the Alipay soft key on the Tyro eftpos pinpad.
      • Pinpad will prompt Enter transaction ref – use the pinpad to enter the transaction reference found on the original Alipay receipt, then OK (green button).

      The Tyro eftpos pinpad then receives a transaction status from Alipay and displays that status on the eftpos pinpad screen and returns the status to the POS.
